Children's Museum of Phoenix

We managed to score free tickets to the children's museum, twice in one month. M enjoyed it way more than I expected. Each room had a perfect little area just for babies and he had a blast. The second visit, we brought Ava along too.
The light table with magnatiles is really fun.
Claustrophobia-inducing noodle forest

Some true genius put knobs all over the baby area fencing. Needless to say this blow out pooper with thrilled.

I love how they get to paint on a giant structure. It's a different shape each month.

Shopping is her favorite
He just loved playing with that handsome baby in the mirror

Sunglasses

Daddy had a great idea, let's put sunglasses on the baby!

Stylin'!

Someone else wanted to have pictures wearing sunglasses too. "Look at my strings!"

Booties

These were commissioned by my sister-in-law. They were so cute, I had to make them in two colors. You can buy the pattern here.

Bzz Campaign: Tone Body Wash

I have lucked into several new bzzcampaigns lately and this one was much more pleasant that the unpalatable FiberOne bars. Don't be confused, I did not try eating this product, but I happily lathered up in the name of free product. I was heartily disappointed when I opened the box and saw the flavor the folks deigned appropriate for me. Peony and rose oil? Really? I associate rose oil anything with octogenarians and hugs you need to hold your breath for. I was fully prepared to hate it, while petulantly wishing they would have delivered me soothing oatmeal and shea butter. Mango and cocoa butter would have been fine, and even Ocean Therapy with Deep Sea Extracts sounded intriguing.

But no, I was saddled with peony and the censures of my conscience for complaining about something I was given for free. I dutifully soaped up and much to my surprise, it smelled wonderful! Sure, it brought me back to junior high and my short-lived infatuation with Victoria Secret's Love Spell, but it was a happy jaunt. It has been many years since I opted for something beyond the neutral fragrance of Dove or Olay and I was surprised to find how nice it was to have a floral scented soap once more. A simple pleasure added into my morning routine. It has a nice lather to it as well and my skin didn't feel tight or dry afterwards. Well, no more than normal.

Despite my olfactory pleasure, my skin reminded me why I nixed smelly soaps. The last couple weeks my eczema has been flared up beyond the chronic patches on my hands. I went through the check list: increased stress? Not particularly. Change in bathing or swimming habits? Nope. Different integumentary product? Darn.

Farewell my fine fragranced friend. It's not you, it's me. I just need some more moisture in my life. We can still see each other occasionally, just not everyday. But can you give me the number of your cousin? Maybe the one with the soothing oatmeal?

New Teeth

Someone had been a snot nosed mess for weeks. Here was one particularly excellent sneeze.

But now he has really enjoyed eating more exciting foods.

What he truly enjoys is playing with the food, particularly the bouncing habits of peas.

Fox Party

What is a fox party you ask? It is a fox themed playdate with my cake-baking friend Marilyn. I saw this cake idea and sent it to her. One of her goals for the year was to bake a cake a week and she did an amazing job!

We made fox masks.

We were also going to watch The Fantastic Mr. Fox, but the girls were having so much fun playing outside that it seems silly to call them indoors to watch a movie. We didn't even get to a What Does the Fox Say dance party. It was so delightful to have them all come over!

Vday recap 2014

Since Husband and I switch off Valentine's day, the blog is the only way we remember whose turn it is each year. This time Husband was in charge and he bought me my very first Kitchen Aid! I've gone my 8 years of married life not needing anything but my hand mixer and a wooden spoon. Then I randomly picked up a library book on french pastry making and have decided to pretend I'm a pastry chef. That means I need a bunch of kitchen gadgets. Thankfully I have a husband who can appreciate gadgets of all genres. And a husband who gets sucked into America's Test Kitchen episodes just as badly as I do. After they tackled stand mixers, we simply had no choice but to get the one they recommended. I mean, their testing process was just so sound and their rhetoric excellent.

Just look what a pretty flower pattern it makes.

I made some cream puffs and J helped me with the egg wash. She was very proud that she "made a bridge"

I found a fun valentine on the internet and made a bunch for my galentines. You open a pull tabe can from the bottom, wash it, and fill it with goodies, then hot glue the bottom back on. As seen via Oh Happy Day's birthday in a can

The sharpie hearts on the top might have been to hide some expiration dates...

M was so completely entranced by the Silhouette. This boy never sits still. Ever. Even when he is drinking a bottle before bed he is kicking his leg constantly. This little moving musical robot was fascinating to him though, enough for me to be amazed, sneak my phone out, take a few photos before realizing I should be on video mode, and start a video, all with him being completely still on my lap.

We also stamped some wrapping paper using toilet paper tubes and rubber bands. Thanks pinterest!

And we did a little hand print art, with copies for the grandparents, to round out our valentine's crafts.

Fiber One makes a meal bar and they gave me a few boxes free

My latest campaign from Bzzagent is Fiber One bars. They are not as delicious as I would expect. A disappointment from the producer of the delicious granola bar that punishes you for overindulging. I mean, they have a warning on the box and all that eating more than 2 a day can give you "abdominal discomfort." These new bars provide no such temptation.

The meal replacement bars have a very protein-y aftertaste. Given, I am sensitive to the protein taste in everything from power bars to protein shakes.  The Fiber One meal bar tastes a lot like the Nature Valley Protein bar, which I also find somewhat gross in comparison to the Sweet and Salty or crunchy deliciousness. Fiber One is bigger and more hearty though. Lil' Sis thinks the Nature Valley protein bars are fantastic so I fully acknowledge that this may just be me. The chocolate peanut butter is edible, but the strawberry even made my toddler spit it out.  Has anyone else tried these before?
