Life lately according to my phone pictures

This mocking bird has flown inside our house 3(!) times this week, tempted by the food scraps toddlers leave on our table and unhindered by the screen door my kids never close.

The second time we were eating outside and I thought it flew in and said as much to M. He gets a pondering look on his face, grabs the PVC pipe, tucks it under one arm and braces it with one hand like a rifle. My pin size Elmer Fudd then comes inside and bird hunts. J missed the first episode but loved watching the video I took of the event. This time she was home so I called her out to see our little guest. I was trying to get the bird to calm down so it didn't poop out its window frustration. J spontaneously starts singing "I'm A Child of God" to settle it down, meanwhile M is taking aim. I had to laugh at the two different approaches to getting the bird out.

My sister and I went to Fluff It gourmet marshmallows while my mum watched our kiddos. You are looking at a homemade graham cracker bowl, laced in chocolate, filled with homemade marshmallows roasted with a torch in front of you, drizzled in caramel, chocolate, and peanuts.

I made another ribbon bouquet for a friend's wedding and I think it is my favorite one yet. It is made out of pages from her favorite book and really deserved to be photographed with my good camera, but that didn't happen. I'll have get a copy of the one her photographer took because these pictures don't do it justice.

J had preschool snack on the day of her Vday party so I let her choose something from pinterest. She had her heart set on these edible fuzzy wuzzies. Remember the pompom things with sticky feet you could buy next to the cash register at Walgreens in the 90's? That's the inspiration.Unfortunately it had 4 year old helper execution for our cake ball variety. But they still turned out pretty cute.

Happy Valentine's Day!

It's still February so I'm still ok, right? We kept up the Vday photo shoot tradition, mostly because it makes the photo calendars look awesome come December :) Big Sis did a wonderful job as usual!

M knew exactly what to do when it was his turn. He sat down and said, "Cheese!" and wrinkled his nose.

My Yogis

I'm not sure how it started, but J was rockin' a triangle pose. When M realized yoga was happening he went to go get a mat.

At this point there was some fighting and general chaos and I didn't get a picture of M doing his yoga. Fortunately the same thing repeated the next day.

I think it's pretty adorable :)

Betty's Bench

We share a wall with Betty and J loves to invite herself over for tea parties in Betty's garden. Betty is a widow and always seems delighted for the company, even if M likes to pick up every glass object in her house until I rescue it from imminent destruction. This is why I like them to spend as much time in garden as possible.

Betty has thoughtfully put fun little things to discover in every nook, like frog statues and life-size plaster deers, and this bench was just the right size for these two.

Ironic Cross stitch

Every engineer needs a little Dante immortalized in old-fashioned needle craft for his cube. Especially when it comes in Comic Sans.
