Neighborhood Easter Egghunt

I am now up to bloggin our Easter festivities. Here are some pics from the annual Good Friday egg hunt.

This year, M knew what was going down and was ready.

J was a pro

This is J's friend Aiyanna and her mum Christine. J and A look like cousins, even more when A hasn't given herself her own hair cut :)

Guys, both these kids were looking at a camera, and not candy. It is a miracle!

Penelope

I have a beautiful new niece and I really want to go and snuggle her. Lil' Sis had a friend take these pictures and I had fun editing them.

Grandma

My mum asked me to take some portraits of my lovely grandmother and I was happy to oblige. I posted the black and white shots on facebook because they are more dramatic, but here are some of the color versions too. I can never decide which I like better.

In the color, her face just radiates.

It in the black and white you really notice her features and smile.

Even though I almost always lean towards vibrant colors, Grandma looked really good with muted editing as well.

But then the black and white gets me every time. This one catches the light on her glasses and the lines in her face.

I asked to take a picture of her hands and she fussed that they were just old lady hands, but I think they are beautiful.

I asked her to do the Japanese V thing that they all do in pictures and she was sweet enough to oblige.

She is a very formal lady and it was hard to get her real personality to come out, but I grabbed my cousin Kaleb, he holds a special place in her heart because she watches him most afternoons. He brought out more of the Grandma I know.

This is one of my favorites.

I loved how she grabbed the tree branch in this one. Again, color or black and white? The nice pattern of the leaves come through in the color.

But this one makes her face pop more (and I tightened the crop). What do you all think?

By this time our light was gone so we came inside and snapped some pics.

I love this because my grandma ALWAYS wears an apron when she cooks.

This one isn't very fancy, and you can't see any faces, but it's Grandma in her element, giving treats to the little ones in her kitchen.

I'm doing a series (you know, eventually, when I get an infinite amount of time and creative energy) of people I love with objects that are meaningful to them. I asked her to grab something important to her and she eventually settled on this picture of my grandfather. It made the both of us tear up a little bit.

I'm so glad I had the chance to do this. She is a phenomenal woman.

Goldie

Fun fact: My great grandma's name was Goldie.

My dad acquired this golden retriever with name Goldie. Now picture your grandmother's first name and call it across the park repeatedly, or scold her for chewing on things.

Awesome, right?

Well this pup decided to be the perfect little model for me as I was doing some lighting test shots.

Workout Buddies

These ladies are some of my favorite people and are all fitness instructors at my gym. We've got Rachel, Meredith and Diane. We all took a class called Bodyattack and then went to Joe's farm grill afterwards, because all of us love eating as much as we love working out. And all of our kids are about the same age too!

J and M decided they needed to try out standing on this stump.

"Take a picture!"

I swear the lives of these kids are going to be better documented than any other generation.

We are so lucky to have such great friends!
